How long does putty dry? Appropriate finishing of residential and utility spaces is a rather laborious task, even if the scope of work comes down to the developer’s state. Many buildings are built using bricks or hollow bricks, which are currently one of the most popular materials when it comes to load-bearing walls. Brick houses, including blocks of flats, made of a monolithic, reinforced concrete mass, require appropriate processing later. This allows for the preparation of individual surfaces in terms of the use of finishing materials and obtaining a perfect final effect.
Decorative stone – elegant finishing of houses
This very popular material has a wide range of applications. A very fashionable solution is its use on the external elements of the building. In particular, it looks very impressive in combination with the finishing plaster used on the external facade. Ready adhesive for decorative stone is a great solution for construction teams that carry out finishing work on the facility. In the case of this type of implementation, the pace of work, as well as the time spent on the whole work, are very important. The purchase of ready-made glue allows for more efficient installation of decorative stone.

Ready tile adhesive – is it worth it?
Not only decorative stone, but also tiles are mounted using special glue. Originally, it was a loose material, mixed with water to obtain a ready-made mass, which was applied to the surface where the tile was to be attached, as well as to the tile itself. Currently, however, ready-made adhesive for ceramic tiles allows for more efficient laying. In addition, there is no need for additional tools, such as stirrers, which were previously necessary.
This solution is very helpful, especially in facilities where there is no working electrical installation yet. An additional advantage is the high quality of the mass. The recipe adapted to the purpose of the adhesive translates into its high strength.
Elegant finish of interior walls – what to remember?
Similarly, brick houses, as well as blocks whose walls were made of reinforced concrete monolith, require the use of additional finishing materials. Their goal is to obtain a perfect surface on which the final finishing materials, such as tiles, decorative stone or paint, will then be applied. Therefore, gypsum fillers are used in the first place. These are the materials that are used for the initial preparation of the wall or ceiling plane. Their purpose is to supplement larger cavities, as well as leveling visible differences in the plane of the wall.
Gypsum is a very hard material after drying, so the layer that is applied to the wall can be thicker, without fear that it will crack. Of course, these types of situations can occur as a result of building subsidence. However, they are sporadic. The next material is putty for gypsum plasters. This material, in turn, is used to fill small cavities as well as irregularities in the wall structure. This material, in turn, is brittle after drying, so the layer that is applied to the wall should not be thicker than a few millimeters.
How long does the putty dry?
The pace at which individual works are carried out also depends on how quickly the material sets. In the case of plaster, this time is about 2 – 3 hours. However, a lot depends on how much diluted mass was used on the wall. In the case of loose plasters, there is a risk that the drying process may take a little longer. Therefore, the perfect solution is to use ready-made putties. They are made based on specific proportions, and their weight is uniform, thanks to which the manufacturer can determine the setting time of the mass much more precisely. In addition, if the work is carried out comprehensively, in many rooms, the ready mass speeds up the interior finishing process.
How to prepare a wall for painting?
The use of gypsum plaster and then putty allow for proper preparation of the wall or ceiling, also for painting. However, it should be remembered that these materials absorb water. Therefore, the paint primer allows you to limit this process. This is important because it makes it easier to cover the wall with a covering layer of paint. As a result, the total cost of interior trim is reduced. Material such as universal primer can also be used on absorbent surfaces, including rough ones. It was developed on the basis of acrylic resin, which is why it evens out the surface, as well as creates a protective layer that prevents paint from being absorbed.
In the case of renovation works, also related to painting rooms, it is worth reapplying a layer of primer. If cracks are visible, you can first apply a putty to level them, and then start priming and painting. Visible losses, on the other hand, must be leveled by using gypsum plaster, which is a hard material.
